Hi-Rez Studios was established in 2005 to create exceptional online interactive entertainment and is now one of the largest video game studios in the Southeast United States. Our games include the squad-based shooter Global Agenda, the critically acclaimed Tribes: Ascend, and SMITE, the Battleground of the Gods. Our studio is a spacious development facility just outside of Atlanta, Ga., in the northern suburb of Alpharetta.

Our talented development team consists of industry-proven concept, character, environment, and technical artists, animators, designers, and programmers. A carefully crafted development pipeline assures smooth results in every aspect of our project, whether working autonomously or as part of a focused team. SMITE - UI Artist/Designer   Alpharetta, GA   Full Time Hi-Rez Studios is looking to hire an experienced UI Artist/UI Designer to work at our studio in Alpharetta, Georgia.   We are looking for an exceptional User Interface Artist who wants be a part of a close-knit and fast-paced development team. This person will work directly with the Art Director, programmers, and designers to create groundbreaking user interface designs with our game. What our UI Artist/Designers do: Design compelling, easy to understand visual treatments for the game UIs and menus. Create and implement UI designs, from 2D assets to Scaleform integration. Ability to create high quality textured UI elements (Buttons, Scrollbars, panel frames, etc"). Work closely with and take direction from the Art Director to maintain a consistent art style for the UI and menus. Work closely with designers and provide ideas on how to best convey important game information to the player in the most straightforward but uncluttered way possible. Work closely with programmers and create an efficient workflow to generate and implement UI and menu assets into the game. Create conceptual samples, user flow diagrams, and high fidelity prototypes to solidify design direction and plans. Identify priorities and gaps in current designs, and contribute and iterate on creative solutions. Ability to create programmer ready assets. Who we are looking for: Has great passion and creativity for interface design, with strong art skills regarding iconography and 2D graphics, and a good understanding of interface functionality At least 2+ years of game experience. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, and Scaleform. Excellent conceptual and illustration skills. Strong portfolio demonstrating solid UI and graphic design skill. Good understanding of interactive market trends and visual styles. Ability to create both original creative art assets for UI, as well as match existing art styles (if needed). Proactive work ethic and be a capable problem solver who is not afraid of big challenges. Plays and enjoys computer and console games Preferred candidates have: Worked on at least 1 shipped game title as a user interface artist. Experience in 3D, FX, or other specializations. After Effects experience a plus.

Who we are looking for: 3+ years of experience creating AAA quality character assets for games, film or animation. Portfolio demonstrating exceptional character designs with animatable topology. Strong grasp of composition, color theory, value, form, scale, shape language, and silhouette. Strong knowledge of human/animal anatomy and proportions. Ability to embellish concepts with technical constraints in mind while maintaining overall aesthetic. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with multiple teams outside of the Character Modeling Department. Comfortable prototyping and working with iterative development process.
